Night Owl Tour
2 hours/$75
Experience the magic of Mission Bay at night on an illuminated paddle board. Watch for glowing bioluminescent plankton, graceful bat rays, and darting fish in the waters beneath. You might spot a sea lion or heron in the moonlight. Some nights you can observe fireworks in the distance. It’s a peaceful and unforgettable way to connect with the ocean after dark.

Mission Bay is a vibrant coastal ecosystem that is home to a wide variety of habitats, from tidal marshes and mudflats to eelgrass beds and sandy beaches. As you glide across the water, keep an eye out for local wildlife on land and below. However, please keep in mind that while wildlife is often spotted, we can’t guarantee what you’ll see every time. Some occasionally spotted fish and birds are featured below. Whether you're a nature lover or a first-time paddler, Mission Bay offers a peaceful escape into Southern California’s coastal biodiversity.

Please stay a safe distance from birds, seals, and other animals.
Be extra cautious around the nesting buffer zone located on the east side of Mariner’s Basin. Look for signs and stay at least 50 feet away.

Avoid loud noises, splashing, or sudden movements that could scare or stress wildlife.

Feeding or trying to interact with wild animals is harmful to them and illegal in many cases.

Keep Mission Bay clean. Please do not litter. If possible, pick up any trash you see along the way to protect the habitats around you.
